Certus Management Group Participates in 2022 Drumstick Dash

For the second year in a row, Certus Management Group Employees participated in the Wheeler Mission Drumstick Dash on Thanksgiving morning. Many of the employees have been participating in this event for several years individually, but once again had the opportunity to participate in-person or virtually this year as a team.

The Drumstick Dash takes place each year in Broad Ripple, and it is Wheeler Mission’s largest event of the year. Wheeler Mission is an organization that serves the needs of the Indianapolis and Bloomington homeless population. Their Drumstick Dash slogan, “Move Your Feet So Others Can Eat” is catchy but doesn’t encompass nearly all the amazing work they do. Wheeler Mission offers various rehabilitation services, such as addiction recovery, mental health care, assistance in training and job placement, emergency shelter, and of course, meals. These programs do more than just help folks in Indianapolis and Bloomington with their everyday needs. They address the root of the problems, and help folks get back on their feet for good.

The team consisted of 30 in-person and virtual participants, and was comprised of Certus employees and their families and friends. Altogether, the team raised $1,010, and was the 9th largest team at the 2022 event, as well as the 4th largest small corporate team. Altogether, Wheeler Mission raised over $96,000, and Certus Management Group is proud to have helped their cause.

Certus Management Group plans to continue showing their support for Wheeler Mission throughout the coming year and plans to have a team participate in the 2023 Drumstick Dash as well. Throughout the last year, they have donated food, clothes, and toiletry products to Wheeler Mission, as well as held a volunteer day in the office where they assembled sack lunches for folks that Wheeler Mission supports.

If you want to support Wheeler Mission, there are many ways for you to do so. Wheeler always benefits from volunteers as well as donations. The organization needs volunteers to help serve meals, clean, run events, and much more. They also accept money donations and things like toiletries and interview clothes for folks who are working towards employment. While Certus plans to contribute to Wheeler Mission’s efforts, we also encourage readers to help in any way they can, too!
